3DGS Stereoscopic Viewer Guide

Japanese Version

info Introduction

This viewer application displays 3D Gaussian Splatting (.PLY, .Splat, .SPZ) in various stereoscopic formats (SBS, Anaglyph, Interlace, etc.), allowing you to freely explore 3D space with mouse or touch controls.

You can switch between two viewer modes optimized for different models:

It also features a Half-SBS output mode for 3D TVs and 3D projectors, perfect for large-screen 3D viewing. As a web-based app, it works seamlessly on browsers across all platforms.

πŸ’‘ For iPhone Users: Select "Add to Home Screen" from the Safari share menu to use it as a full-screen native app.

file_open How to Open 3DGS Files

You can load models using either of the following methods:

  1. Select the folder icon folder_open on the far left of the toolbar and choose "Open File".
  2. Drag and drop 3DGS files directly onto the viewer.
πŸ“‚ Multiple Files: Both methods allow you to select multiple files at once. When multiple files are opened, use the NEXT / PREV buttons on the toolbar to switch between them.

screen_rotation Gyroscope & Face Tracking Controls

On smartphones and tablets, you can use the device's motion sensors or front camera to control the viewpoint β€” like looking through a window into a 3D scene.

Feature How to Use Description
screen_rotation Gyroscope Tap the gyro icon in the toolbar to toggle ON/OFF Tilting your device rotates the viewpoint accordingly. It feels like looking around a 3D model by physically turning.
face Face Tracking Tap the face icon in the toolbar to toggle ON/OFF The front camera detects your face position. Moving your head left/right or up/down shifts the viewpoint to match, creating a natural parallax effect.
⚠️ Exclusive Use: Gyroscope and Face Tracking cannot be used simultaneously. Activating one will automatically disable the other.

Sliders in 2D Mode (Pivot & Movement)

When you switch the display to 2D (Normal) mode, the sliders at the bottom change into dedicated adjustment controls for Gyroscope and Face Tracking.

Slider Range Description
Pivot (Rotation Center)
Focus slider changes
βˆ’50 to οΌ‹50

Adjusts the front-to-back position of the pivot point around which the camera rotates.

  • οΌ‹ (right) β†’ Pivot moves closer to the camera. The camera travels a shorter arc per tilt β€” tighter, more controlled motion.
  • βˆ’ (left) β†’ Pivot moves farther away. The camera sweeps a wider arc β€” more dramatic parallax effect.

πŸ’‘ Think of it like a compass: a shorter needle draws a small circle, a longer needle draws a larger one.

Movement (Sensitivity)
Depth slider changes
0 to 100

Controls how strongly the viewpoint reacts to device tilting or head movement.

  • 0 (left end) β†’ No movement (completely frozen)
  • 50 (center) β†’ Standard sensitivity (Γ—1.0)
  • 100 (right end) β†’ Double speed (Γ—2.0)

πŸ’‘ If the view moves too much, slide left. If you want more responsiveness, slide right.

πŸ’‘ Settings Persistence: Pivot and Movement values set in 2D mode are also applied when using Gyroscope or Face Tracking in other stereo modes (SBS, Anaglyph, etc.). When you return to 2D mode, your previous settings are automatically restored.
