Installing Apple SHARP on Windows / Mac
By using Apple’s “SHARP”
(https://github.com/apple/ml-sharp),
you can now generate 3D Gaussian Splatting (.PLY) data from a single 2D photo.
Installing “SHARP” may be a bit difficult for users who are not familiar with the command line.
Therefore, i have prepared a batch file (for Windows) and a script file (for Mac)
that automatically install “SHARP” when you double-click them.
Please feel free to use these installers.
Note that installing “SHARP” uses conda
(an open-source package and environment management system),
and you must agree to the conda license terms.
When you start the installer, you will be asked whether you agree to the license.
If you accept, the installation will begin.

After downloading and extracting the above archive, you will find two batch files:
“install_sharp.bat” and “uninstall.bat”.
“install_sharp.bat”: SHARP installer
“uninstall.bat”: SHARP uninstaller
How to use the Windows batch file
Double-click “install_sharp.bat” to automatically install “SHARP”.
First, you will be asked to allow conda.
If there is no problem, press the (Y) key to proceed.
The installation may take some time.
When the completion message appears, a shortcut named
“SHARP (Drag & Drop)” will be created on your desktop.
Store the 2D images you want to convert into 3D Gaussian Splatting in a folder,
then drag and drop that folder onto the
“SHARP (Drag & Drop)” icon.
A subfolder named [sharp_output] will be created inside the image folder,
and the 3DGS data will be generated there.
You can open the generated 3D Gaussian Splatting (.PLY) file by launching
“3DGS Viewer for SHARP”
linked from
“How to Use 3DGS Viewer for SHARP”
and dragging and dropping the file into the viewer to freely explore it in 3D.
All “SHARP” files are installed under:
c:\user\(user name)\SHARP
Double-click “uninstall.bat” to remove the “SHARP” folder and all shortcuts.

After downloading and extracting the above archive, you will find the following
files: “install_sharp.sh”, “uninstall.bat”, “uninstall_sharp.sh”, and “Sharp Installer Readme.pdf”.
“Sharp Installer Readme.pdf” contains installation instructions and usage details.
