File->Open SBS Image File
Open movies and still images in SBS format.
For H264/265 MP4 videos, you can choose hardware decoding using nVidia or Intel GPUs.
However, hardware decoding is only supported up to 4K(3940x2160), so it cannot be used for 4K SBS(7680x2160) videos.
For nVidia, software decoding is automatically used when hardware decoding is not available, but for Intel, an error message will appear.
If it is extremely slow, there is a large possibility that software decoding is being used, so please check separately in Windows Task Manager/Performance tag to see if GPU decoding is being used.
Videos are opened using the FFmpeg API, so the latest video formats, such as H265 MP4, are supported.
For still images, Windows Imaging Component (WIC) is used to open image files, including Jpeg, PNG and TIFF.
Since 2017 and with iOS 11 and and above, Apple started using High Efficiency Image Format (HEIF) for coding images.
On Windows,the Microsoft image AND video extensions are required.
The image extension is free, the video extension is not.
SMM-FF provides a free solution for this and replaces those add-ons.
First, you have to uninstall the "HEIF Image Extensions" by following the procedure detailed on this page .
Next install and run the CopyTrans HEIC app (an internet connection is required).
You should now be able to open the images.
(optionally, by simply right-clicking on selected images in Windows Explorer you can convert up to 100 of them to JPG).
Please note that the video display uses Direct2D for high-speed processing, but due to limitations here, it is not possible to display resolutions higher than about 16,000 pixels.
You can also open a SBS file by dragging and dropping onto the application icon, or by dragging and dropping it onto the application window.
When a file is opened, a list of videos/still images in the same folder is created so that you can switch between them with the space/backspace keys or turn the slideshow on/off with the A key.
Create a list according to the file type in the file selection dialog.
The file types are Stereo,Image,Video,Slideshow list and All.
For example, setting the file type to "Image Files" will create a list of only the still images in the folder.

File->Open Left/Right Image Files
Opens separate left and right videos/still images.
Supported formats arethe same as above.
Basically, load the left image first.
Display will process the first image as the left one.
Files can be opened by dragging and dropping left and right files onto the application icon, or by dragging and dropping left and right files onto the application window.
When dropping a file, place the mouse cursor over the file on the left side and drop it, it will be recognized as the left side.

The example folder shown below has various naming conventions but is successfully browsed in sequence.

File->Open Slide Show List
Open a slideshow list (text file).
Files specified in the list are displayed in alphabetical order.
Still images will be switched at the specified interval, and videos will be switched when played to the end.
If the slideshow list is opened with a text editor and SlideShow is set to OFF (0), the slideshow will not start automatically.
You can toggle it manually with the spacebar/backspace key.
You can also use the 'A' key to toggle the slideshow on/off.
Press just long enough to see the slideshow interval displayed in the title bar.
If you press too long you will turn it off.
Pressing the space bar or backspace stops the slideshow, but does not resume the slideshow.
If you wish, you can add the intermission image to the end of the list.

File->Make/Edit a Slide Show List
Create a slideshow list text file with all images or selected files in the folder.

(As a reminder, if you want to create a movie of a slideshow you can use SPM)

[Input File Type] For a folder of mixed stereo formats, for each image or image pair, select whether to use SBS image, Top/Bottom image, or separate left/right images.
For separate left and right images, the files must be stored in the same folder in the order of their file names, L,R,L,R...
If the left and right images are stored in separate folders, enter the right folder separately.
In this case, too, the images must be stored in order because the pairs are created in the order of the file name.
[Width of displayed image] Changes the width of the original image.
No change -> It follows the previous setting.
Same width as original image -> The width of the original video is displayed in the same width as the width of the original video.
Unlike "No change",this one forces the display to be the same width as the original video.
Half width -> Displays the image with half the width of the original image.
Use this function when you want to display a normal width image in half SBS, such as on a 3D TV, or when you want to display a half T/B image in normal width.
Double width -> Display the image in double the width of the original image.
Use this function when you want to display half SBS video in normal width.

[Slide Show Interval] Sets the display interval for each image in 0.1 second increments; if 0, the value entered in the menu "File->Preferences" is used.

[ Swap Left/Right] Left and right are displayed reversed.
[Use full path name for the image file in a slide show list] If this is not checked, only the file name will be entered in the slideshow list, and the folder will be treated as the same as the folder containing the slideshow list.

[Convert image filenames to lower-case] Lowercase image filenames in listings
[Slide Show List File] Click the Browse button or directly enter a file name.
File name extension must be ".txt".
[Manual Edit] The application associated with the text file (extension .txt) will be launched and you can edit the listing directly in the text editor.
[Delete] Delete the Slide Show list file. "Add Selected Files" button will add the selected image file to the existing list file, so if you want to create a new one, delete it and then press "Add Selected Files" button.
[Add Selected Files] Adds the selected video or still image files to the slideshow list; multiple selections can also be made by holding down the Ctrl or Shift key and mouse clicking.
[Add All Files] All files in the folder according to the file type will be added to the list.
For example, if the file type is set to "Image Files", only the still images in the folder will be added to the list.
After adding all the images to the list, click 'Manual Edit' to specify background music and other parameters and then Save the edited file

The slideshow list is a text file, so it can also be edited directly with a text editor.
For an explanation of the slideshow list, please click here.

File->Open StereoMovie Maker FF
Opens the currently displayed media file in "StereoMovie Maker FF".
Please use this function when you have readjusted the movie, etc.

File->Video informations
Use the included "ffprobe.exe" to retrieve and display information about the video being displayed,just click it.
You can also drop a video file directly into the dialog to display information about that video.

File->Preferences
Set the slide show interval in 0.1 second increments,the fast-forward/rewinding-time and background grayscale color (0 = black, 100 = white).

File->Remove All Registry Entries
Various settings are saved in the registry, but they can all be deleted with this function.
If the operation becomes unpredictable and the cause is unknown, please try to delete the settings and return to the initial state.

File->Exit
Exit the application.

Operation->Full Screen
Turn on full screen display.
To return to normal display, press Enter or ESC or Q key.

Operation->Full Screen Monitor Setting
Select the monitor to be used for full screen display.
If you are in a multi-monitor environment, you can select multiple monitors.
If two projectors are used for projection, select two projectors and SBS display will separate the left and right images to be shown on the two projectors.

Operation->Screening Intermission image
If there is a full-width SBS image named "intermission_image.jpg" in the same folder as the StereoMovie Player FF, the image is registered as a Screening Intermission image.
This is a still image to be displayed when the video has finished.
It is not displayed after a slideshow or when switching images with space or backspace during video playback.
. Save & Register : However, if a still image is displayed beforehand and this menu-item is selected, the image is saved in the same folder as the stereo movie player FF under the name "intermission_image.jpg" and is registered as a Screening Intermission image.
Intermission Image Display : Display "intermission_image.jpg" To check if a intermission image is registered or which image is registered.
Delete Registration : Delete "intermission_image.jpg" and unregister a Screening Intermission image.
When the movie ends, the last image is displayed.

Operation->Slide Show ON/OFF
As mentioned above, when a media file is opened, an internal list of media files in that folder is automatically created.
When this is selected, you can start/stop the slideshow based on that list.
Of course, you can also start/stop the slideshow by opening the slideshow list.

Operation->Next File
When a slideshow list is opened, it switches to the next image specified in the list.
When a video is opened, the images in the same folder are listed internally in order of file name according to the file type, and the display switches to the next image.

Operation->Prev. File
When the slideshow list is opened, it switches to the previous image specified in the list.
When a video is opened, the images in the same folder are listed internally in order of file name according to the file type, and the display switches to the previous image.

Operation->Pause/Resume
Pause and resume video, each press of the left mouse button stops or resumes the video.

Operation->Restart
Play the video from the beginning, it can also be operated by right-clicking with the mouse.

Operation->Frame advance
The frame-by-frame advance of the video is performed.
Each time N is pressed,the frame is advanced. (To return to the previous frame, use the seek control described below.)

Operation->Control Panel Show/Hide
Show/hide the control panel, which is toggled on and off with each press of the C key; turn it off if it gets in the way.
You can also close the seek control by pressing the X (close) button in the upper right corner.
You can control the playback position of videos, volume control, and various other operations.
You can also switch to a file by dragging it to the control panel.
For example, when a projector is connected to a notebook PC for screening, a control panel is supposed to be displayed on the notebook PC to control the screening.
It also displays the number of frame drops in the video and the processing time per frame.
For processing time per frame, 10 frames are measured and the maximum value is displayed.
For example, at 30 fps, frames are switched approximately every 33 mS, so if processing is completed in 33 mS or less, the video can be displayed without frame dropping.
However, if decoding takes a long time, such as when software decoding is used, the playback will simply be slower and the audio will not be able to keep up because it will not frame drop.
So, if the audio is choppy, the decoding has not been completed in time.

Stereo->Standard/Half/Double Width
The width of the displayed image is half or double the width of the input image.
Each time the M key is pressed, the display switches in this order: standard, half-width, and double width.
Use it to display half-width SBS in standard size, etc.

Stereo->Swap L/R
Each press of the X key switches the left and right sides of the window.
The current state is displayed to the left of the window title bar.
Input state (LR) and switched state (RL).

Stereo->Left/Right/Up/Down
The Left/Right adjustment is for displaying the image in front of the screened surface (a 'floating window').
The Up/Down keys may also be needed if an image is being displayed on a 3DTV with an unsuitable overscan setting.

Stereo->Reset
Reset the floating window settings above.

Stereo->2D
The 2D image of one side is displayed.

Stereo->SBS
Display/save the left and right images in SBS.
This player is primarily intended for 3D projection.
Therefore, it is designed to perform best with half or full SBS display.
Combined with the hardware decoding by nVidia and Intel GPUs mentioned above, full HD SBS (3840x1080) 60FPS playback is possible without frame dropping.
Of course, you will need a sufficiently-powerful PC.

Stereo->Color Anaglyph
You can also save in this stereo format, but saving is not recommended as mentioned above.
This mode is very useful for left/right position adjustment, etc., as alignment errors are easy to detect

Stereo->LR/RL
This is a format in which the LR SBS and the left and right swapped RL SBS are aligned vertically.
Both the parallel and crossed methods can be viewed by those who can view stereoscopic images with the naked eye.
In addition, since they can be viewed in full color as they are, they are often used on Instagram,Facebook,etc.
Please use in combination with output size change according to the Social Network Service (SNS).

Stereo->Gray Anaglyph
Color anaglyph display.

Stereo->Dubois Anaglyph
This is a kind of color anaglyph, but it is easier to see than color anaglyphs when the original image has red or blue areas.

Stereo->Half color Anaglyph
This is a kind of color anaglyph, but it is easier to see than color anaglyphs when the original image has red areas.

Stereo->Top/Bottom
For interlaced passive 3DTVs, etc., half top/bottom format to 3D conversion display is the best way to display with high image quality.
Therefore, we recommend combining this mode with "Stereo->Standard/Half/Double Width" to output in half T/B format.
This mode is also capable of the same performance as SBS.
If you have problems with vertical error on your 3DTV, try playing the images from a usb stick plugged into the TV.

Stereo->Interlace
Interlaced display for interlaced passive 3D monitors.
Since it is necessary to perform interlace processing after resizing to the display size, processing time is longer than other display methods.
If you have performance issues, please use "Interlaced (no resize - high speeed)" below.

Stereo->Interlace (no resize - high speed)
Interlaced display for interlaced passive 3D monitors.
High-speed display is achieved by omitting the resizing process.
All images larger than the display size cannot be displayed, so please use the above "interlace" or resize the original image to the display size in advance using "StereoMovie Maker FF", etc.
